This year, the theme for 2022 is “Groundwater, Making the Invisible Visible”. Groundwater is the largest source of fresh water on earth. However, being stored below the surface, it is often overlooked and difficult to reach, despite being necessary to address the growing problem of water scarcity.

This theme has greatly challenged us, because we seek daily to make the production chain of our jewelry more transparent, while reducing its impact. By limiting the use of mercury, fairtrade gold contributes to the healthiness of water and soil.
